The origins of Hanoi National University of Education trace back to October 10, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 45 to establish the Philology University Committee in Hanoi. Further development occurred on October 8, 1946, with the establishment of an Education Branch dedicated to training teachers for various educational levels across the country [5].

Hanoi National University of Education was officially founded on October 11, 1951, under Decree No. 276 of the Ministry of National Education [5]. The university has maintained its current location since 1956. For a period between 1994 and 1999, HNUE was a constituent member of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. However, by a Prime Minister's decision in October 1999, it separated to re-establish itself as an independent, key national university focused specifically on teacher training [5].
